Our Story
As the mother of an ice hockey player, a team manager, and a nurse, I have always been aware of the importance of good nutrition, and the comfort of a good home-cooked meal, especially when travelling. Nutrition for sports players, especially growing ones, is important for so many reasons. I recognised the difficulty of sourcing quality, nutritious, economical meals when time and location are often barriers, and so Ice Catering was born.
I see catering for these players as a way to nurture and care, and hopefully provide some comfort for those who are away from home.
All ingredients are sourced locally and within season from businesses who also recognise the value in providing quality food to young sports people.
I’m acutely aware of the cost involved in growing an ice hockey player, and this has always been at the front of my mind when planning menus.
In this current climate, where we have all felt the impact of Covid-19, infection control is paramount. My nursing knowledge has ensured that my team and I follow the most up-to-date, evidence-based hygiene standards. We use a commercial kitchen and employ a professional cleaner to complete a deep clean at the completion of major events.
I have employed and trained a small support crew, who assist with preparation, serving and cleaning to the highest standard.
We cater for all dietary needs on request.
